Guests: invite clients without paying for seats
A guest is someone outside your team, usually a client, who you bring into specific work to review or edit it. Guests don’t count as paid people on your plan.
The main difference from a team member: a guest can’t create deliverables. They only work on what you share with them.
Guests vs team members
| Team member | Guest | |
|---|---|---|
| Sees | Every team-visible project workspace automatically, plus anything they’re invited to. Not private project workspaces or private deliverables. | Only the deliverables or project workspaces you invite them to |
| Can create deliverables? | Yes | No |
| Counts toward your paid people? | Yes | No |
| Needs an Xtensio account? | Yes | Yes, free (they can sign up with Google) |
If someone only needs to read your work, you don’t need to invite them at all. Send a live link: it opens in any browser with no account. See Share a weblink.
How many guests you can have
- Free: 1 guest.
- Xtensio Plus: unlimited guests.
On Free, your one guest can be invited to a deliverable or to a project workspace. It’s one guest either way, and a guest who is in both still counts once.
Invite a guest
- To one deliverable: open it, choose Invite Collaborators at the top of the editor, enter their email, choose what they can do and choose Invite.
- To a project workspace: choose Invite Members when you create the project workspace. They’ll see every deliverable inside it.
Guests don’t need to accept anything before they can be added. They get an email with a link to open the work.
Remove a guest
Open the deliverable or project workspace, find the guest in the people list and choose Remove. On Free, this frees your guest slot for someone else.
